Briefly explain the term reflex action.​
- Reflex action is an automatic and involuntary response to a stimulus.​
- It is the entire process of response to a peripheral nervous stimulation, that occurs involuntarily, that is, without conscious effort or thought and requires the involvement of a part of the central nervous system(spinal cord).
- Most reflex actions are controlled by the spinal cord through reflex arcs. ​
