Barad Kisan Movement was started in 1922 in Barad region of Bundi Province. The Movement was headed by Nayanu Ram Sharma. It was a reaction against oppressive imposition of taxes and labour. This movement was against state administration that arbitrarily treated the peasants and sucked their daily earned wealth.This movement lasted for 17 years however it was defeated by the administration but the collective consciousness of peasants managed to raise their voice and stood against the system.
