The pressure in the fluid increases with increasing depth as Pd=P0+ρgd. When an object is immersed in any fluid, its upper surface come in contact with law pressure whereas lower surface comes in contact with higher pressure. Hence the force acting upwards due to higher pressure at the bottom is greater than the force acting downwards due to lower pressure at the top.
Hence a net upward force called buoyant force acts on the body.
