Cotton,cotton clothes are plant product and made up of carbohydrate,cellulose so when cotton is burnt, it smells like burning paper. While wool and hair are from animals product and made of proteins so when wool burnt it smell like hair. Therefore we can say smell of burning cotton or cotton clothes resembles like burning paper whereas burning wool Smells Like a burning hair
