Fossil fuels are the combustible substances formed from the decayed and buried substances. They can be used in the form of coal, petroleum, natural gas etc. In the process of burning of fossil fuels, a large amount of carbon dioxide and heat are produced which affects the earth's atmosphere, these effects are the source of concern for scientists and environmentalists. As the amount of carbon dioxide increases, there is a rise in temperature which leads to global warming and causes greenhouse effect. This also leads to the depletion of the ozone layer and causes several diseases among humans and plants. These fossil fuels are non - renewable natural resources and it takes millions of years to form,. If it gets exhausted there will be no fossil fuel left for a future generation.
