Question

By how much will the total surface area of a cube with side 43 cm be more than that of a cube with side 26 cm ?

Open in App
Solution

We have to determine the difference of total surface area of the two cubes.
Let the cube with the side 43 cm be C1 and the cube with the side 26 cm be C2

Total Surface Area of a cube =6×s×s, where s is the length of its side.

So, for cube C1 with side 43 cm,
Total surface area =6×43×43=6×1849=11094 cm2

For cube C2 with side 26 cm,
Total surface area =6×26×26=6×676=4056 cm2

Therefore the difference in the total surface area of two cubes is =110944056=7038 cm2
