Given, $s p = 1638$
Loss $% = 9$

Let the cost price be $x$

Loss $% = \frac{c p - s p}{c p} \times 100$

$= \frac{x - 1638}{x} \times 100 = 9$

$\Rightarrow 100 x - 163800 = 9 x$

$\Rightarrow x = \frac{163800}{90} = 1820$ Rs.

Let the new selling price be $y$
Profit $% = 15 %$

Profit $% = \frac{s p - c p}{c p} \times 100 = 15$

$\Rightarrow (y - 1820) 100 = 15 (1820)$

$\Rightarrow y = \frac{15 (1820) + 1820 (100)}{100} = \frac{115 \times 1820}{100} = 2093$ Rs.

To make a profit of $15 %$ selling price should be $2093$ Rs.
