Question

By selling a T-shirt for Rs.216 a shopkeeper loses 4%. For how much should he sell it to gain 12 %?

Open in App
Solution

S.P. = Rs. 216 and loss percent = 4%
The CP = =100(100loss%)×sp
={100(1004)×216}={10096×216}=Rs.225
Now the C.P. = Rs. 225 and the desired gain % = 12%
The S.P.==(100+gain%)100×C.P.=Rs.{(100+12)100×225}=Rs.(112100×225)=Rs.252
Hence the shopkeeper should sell the T-shirt for Rs.252
