Cost price of watch = $\frac{100}{100-loss\%}\times S.P$

$\therefore$ Cost price of watch $=\frac{100}{100-10}\times 1440$

$\therefore$ Cost price of watch $=\frac{100}{90}\times 1440=Rs.1600$

Selling price of watch to gain $5\%=1600\times \frac{5}{100}+1600=80+1600=Rs.1680$
