As per given problem,
$Profitpercent=\frac{Profit}{Costprice}\times 100$
$x=\frac{Profit}{x}\times 100$
$\Rightarrow x^2=(Sellingprice-Costprice)\times 100$
$x^2=(96-x)\times 100$
$x^2+100x-9600=0$
$x^2+160x-60x-9600=0$
$x(x+160)-60(x+160)=0$
$(x-60)(x+160)=0$
$x=60orx=-160$
Hence value of $x$ will be $60$ as it is positive number.
Cost of one dozen of such articles will be $(12\ast 60)=Rs720$
