Let the cost price of article be Rs x
Profit will also be x%
given, selling price is Rs96
As per given problem,
Profitpercent=ProfitCostprice×100
x=Profitx×100
x2=(SellingpriceCostprice)×100
x2=(96x)×100
x2+100x9600=0
x2+160x60x9600=0
x(x+160)60(x+160)=0
(x60)(x+160)=0
x=60orx=160
Hence value of x will be 60 as it is positive number.
Cost of one dozen of such articles will be (1260)=Rs720
