Solution

The rose plant has spines which are also known as thorns. These are long, pointed and needle-like structures. The predators or the animals do not feed on this plant due to the pricking of the thorns which will damage their cells. The thorns protect the plant from grazing animals. The plant like the poison ivy release certain kind of oil. This oil has a peculiar smell which keep the animals away from the plants. The rabbits are generally carried away from the plants due to the smell.
