Ammonium chloride(NH4Cl) sublimes on heating whereas common salt does not.
When we heat the mixture, white fumes are seen. These fumes then change back to solid ammonium chloride along the cooler upper part of the funnel, which is called sublimate.
This process is called sublimation.
Sublimation is a process in which a solid state is d converted into a gaseous state without going into the liquid state.
