Open in App
Solution

  • To separate the helpful from non-useful or hazardous components of a mixture, we must separate the various components.

Examples:
(a) Tea leaves and tea are separated.
(a) Dust, Peebles, etc are separated from Rice and pulses.

Explanation with examples:

  • Unwanted chemicals in mixtures can be detrimental and damage the qualities of the combination.
  • We must separate them and remove usable materials.
  • This is essential because;
  • (i) undesired and hazardous compounds are removed,
  • (ii) pure and beneficial substances are obtained.
  • For instance, seawater is high in common salt, a flavour and nutrient enhancer in our meals.
  • However, seawater cannot be utilized to get salt directly. As a result, both must be separated.
