Find the ratio of the following:

55 paise to Rs 1

Ratios are used to compare quantities which have same units

To find the ratio of the given numbers we have to convert them into same units.(Since the units of two numbers are different i.e., one is in paise and other in rupee).

Rs 1 = 100 paise

Now, ratio of 55 paise to Rs 1 = 55 paise : 100 paise

= $\frac{55}{100}=\frac{11}{20}=11:20$ [Dividing numerator and denominator by HCF of 55 and 100 i.e. 5]
