We know by now that what is CP and CV.
Now, try to think of if this kind of relation is possible?
At constant volume, if we are heating a gas, it is not allowed to expand the volume, which results in increase in pressure and let's say CV is required to raise temperature of one mole of a gas by one degree.
But when pressure is kept constant, it is definitely going to expand.
Expansion leads to some work being done by the gas, which would require more heat as compared to the constant volume process.


Therefore, CP is greater than CV
