Smita’s mother is 34 years old. Two years from now mother’s age will be 4 times Smita’s present age. What is Smita’s present age?

Let the age of Smita be x years and the present age of Smita's mother is = 34 years
Two years from now, her mother's age will be = 34+2.
According to the question, $34 + 2 = 4 x$
$\Rightarrow 4 x = 36$
$\Rightarrow x = \frac{36}{4}$
$\Rightarrow x = 9$
$∴$ present age of Smita is 9 years.
