Solution

The correct option is A Thyroid gland
Calcitonin is a polypeptide hormone which is made up of 32 amino acids. It is secreted by the parafollicular cells of the thyroid gland when the concentration of the blood calcium has increased above the normal level. It is secreted in order to reduce the blood calcium concentration by increasing the absorption of calcium in the bone and reducing the absorption of calcium in the kidneys and the intestines. It also neutralizes the effect of parathyroid hormone, thus lowering the blood calcium level in blood. It reduces the calcium level by increasing the calcium excretion in the urine.
So, option a is the correct option.
