Calculate number of electrons , number of nucleons and number of neutron in 6.6g of carbon dioxide

1) Number of moles of CO2 = mass/molr mass = 6.6/44 = 0.15moles

Each molecule of CO2 contains 3 atoms in it (1 carbon and 2 oxygen atoms)
So,
1mole of CO2 = 3*6.023*1023
So 0.15 moles of CO2 contains = 0.15*3*6.023*1023
= 2.7 x 10²³ atoms
In CO2, Number of protons = number of electrons = 22
Number of neutrons = molar mass - number of protons = 44 - 22 = 22
Number of protons in 0.15 moles of CO2 = 22 (0.15 x 6.023*1023)
= 1.98 x 10²â´
The number of nucleons = neutrons + protons = 44
The number of nucleons in 0.15moles of CO2= 0.15( 44 x 6.023*1023)
= 3.96 x 10²â´ nucleons
