Heat required to melt the ice at 0C to water:

Heat required to take 1 kg of water from 0C to 100C:
Q3=mswaterΔT=1×4200×100=420000 J

Heat required to convert 1 kg of water at 100C into steam:
Q4=mLvapour=1×2.25×106=2250000J

Total heat required in the entire process is given by:
Q1+Q2+Q3+Q4=21000+336000+420000+2250000=3.03×106J.
