The isotope 168O contains 8 protons, 8 neutrons and 8 electrons.
Actual mass of the nucleus of 168O=16 Mass of 8 electrons
=168×0.0005486=159956amu
Mass of the nucleus of 168O= Mass of 8 protons + Mass of 8 neutrons
=8×1.00757+8×1,00893=16.132amu
Mass defect =(16.13215.9956)=0.1364amu
Binding energy =0.1364×931=127MeV.
