Calculate the composition of an acidic buffer solution $(H A + N a A)$ of total molarity $0.29$ having $p H = 4.4$ and $K_{a} = 1.8 \times 10^{- 5}$ .

$p H = - log K_{a} + log \frac{[S a l t]}{[A c i d]}$
$4.4 = - log (1.8 \times 10^{- 5}) + log \frac{[S a l t]}{[A c i d]}$
It is also given $[S a l t] + [A c i d] = 0.29$
On solving above 2 equations we get
$[S a l t] = 0.9 M; [A c i d] = 0.20 M$
