(c) Final volume of water when solid is completely immersed in water = 42 ml

Intial volume of water $V_1=24ml$

Final volume of water $V_2=42ml$

Volume of solid $\left(V\right)=V_2–V_1$

$=42–24=18c{m}^3$

Density of solid $\left(D\right)=\frac{M}{V}$

$=\frac{72}{18}=4g/c{m}^3$
