Calculate the mass of glucose and the mass of water required to make 500g solution which contains 25% glucose.
Mass of glucose = 125g, Mass of water = 375g
Given mass of solution (M) = 500g
Concentration of solution = 25%
Since, Mass by Mass percentage of solution = [Mass of solute (m)/Mass of solution (M)] × 100
⇒ 25 = m500×100
⇒ m = 25100×500 = 125g
⇒ Mass of solute = 125 g
Mass of solvent (water) = M - m = 500g - 125g = 375 g
