Question

Calculate the molar masses of following compounds
(i) H2SO4
(ii)HNO3
(iii) NaOH
(iv) HCI
(v) NH4OH
(vi) NH2CONH2
(vii) C12H22O4

Open in App
Solution

(i) Molar mass of H2SO4= 2+32+(16×4)
=98 amu

(ii) Molar mass of HNO3= 1+14+(16×3
=63 amu

(iii) Molar mass of NaOH= 23+16+1
=40 amu

(iv) Molar mass of HCl= 1+35.5
=36.5 amu

(v) Molar mass of NH4OH=14+2+12+16+14+2
=35 amu

(vi) Molar mass of NH2CONH2=14+2+12+16+14+2
=60 amu

(vii) Molar mass of C12H22O4=(12×12)+22+(16×4)
=230 amu
