Question

Calculate the number of electrons present in 36 g water .

Open in App
Solution

Molar mass of H2O = 18 g
No. of molecules present in 1 mole of H2O = 6.022×1023

No. of electrons present in 1 molecule of H2O = 10

No. of moles of H2O = 3618=2

So, the no. of molecules of H2O present in 2 moles of H2O = 2×6.022×1023

No. of electrons present in 36 g of water = 10×2×6.022×1023=1.2044×1025
