Question

Calculate the number of particles in 0.1mol of carbon atoms.

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Given data

Moles of carbon atoms = 0.1mol

We know that the molar mass of carbon is 12g

Step 2: Calculating the number of particles in 0.1 moles of carbon

From Avagadro's number we know that,

One mole of carbon = 6.022x1023 atoms of carbon

0.1mol of carbon will have 6.022x102310 = 6.022x1022particles

Hence, the number of particles in 0.1mol of carbon is 6.022x1022
