The balanced chemical equation for the alkaline oxidative fusion of MnO2 is as given below:

2MnO2+4KOH+O22K2MnO4+2H2O

Let x be the oxidation number of Mn in K2MnO4.

Hence, 2(+1)+x+4(2)=0 (for a neutral compound)

or, x=+6

Hence, the oxidation number of Mn in the product obtained on alkaline oxidative fusion of MnO2 is +6.
