Latent heat of fusion = 80calg1, specific heat of ice =0.5calg1, and J=4.2×107

Solution :
First we will convert all of them in SI units
Latent heat of ice L=80×4.2×103=336×103
specific heat of ice c=0.5×4.2×103 = 2.1×103

Kinetic Energy= total energy to melt ice
12mv2=mCΔT+mL

12v2=CΔT+L
v2=2(2.1×103+×5+336×103)
v=832.5ms1
