Question

Can a circle be considered as a polygon?
While factorising a polynomial,i.e.,x2+2x+1 we get (x+1)(x+1) so it has only one zero i.e., -1 right?

Solution

Answer :

1 ) A circle is not a polygon as it does not have straight sides.

2 ) By factorising : x 2 + 2 x + 1 , We get

= x 2 + x + x + 1

= x ( x + 1 ) + 1 ( x + 1 )

= ( x + 1 ) ( x + 1 )

So, our polynomial have same zeros , x = - 1 ( we can say our polynomial have one zeros )
