Question

Can a magnet repel ferromagnetic material?

Open in App
Solution

Ferromagnetic materials:

  1. Ferromagnetic materials are attracted to magnets, for example, iron(Fe), Cobalt( Co), etc.
  2. These materials have net magnetization at the atomic level even in the absence of an external magnetic field.

Hence, magnets do not repel ferromagnetic materials.
