Malabsorption is a condition where the small intestine improperly absorbs nutrients.
Malabsorption is caused by infection, trauma, or surgery.
The use of certain drugs and other intestinal disorders can also cause malabsorption.
Symptoms- diarrhoea, bloating, indigestion, and fat in the stool are the major symptoms.
Detection of malabsorption:
The blood test cannot determine malabsorption in the body.
A stool test can determine the fat and the most effective process of malabsorption detection.
Sweat test (can determine cystic fibrosis in the intestine)., lactose hydrogen test( determine the nutrient absorption), and endoscopy are other effective ways to diagnose malabsorption.
