Question

Can chlorine permanganate be created like potassium permanganate?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student, No it is not possible as the permanganate(VII) ion is a strong oxidizing agent. And chlorine itself being an oxidizing agent will not allow permangante ion to attach to it's atoms. Regards
