Open in App
Solution

Dinoflagellates :

  1. Dinoflaggetes are eukaryotes that are mostly marine and photosynthetic organisms.
  2. Dinoflagetes appear yellow, green, brown, blue, or red.
  3. Red dinoflagellates can divide rapidly in the presence of optimum factors like stable wind speed, sunlight, minerals, and nutrients causing red tides.
  4. They can produce toxins like sulfated polysaccharides which target ion channels on cells.
  5. Toxins released in such large numbers can kill fish. They can also cause poisoning in humans.
