Question

Can errors in a measurement be avoided? If not why?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Sometimes, the accuracy of the result is limited by the least count of the instrument.
  2. Sometimes, environmental changes in temperature and pressure affect both the experiments as well as the measuring instruments.
  3. Thus, all measurements involve errors.
  4. Thus whenever we make any measurement with an instrument, we do not get exact results.

Hence, errors cannot be avoided in a measurement.
