can satellites or spaceships go beyond asteroid belt if they do not than how it is possible to make research about the outer planets?

As many Asteroids moves in unknown orbits and there are many grain size particles in asteroid belt which can collide with the spacecraft so that they can damage, but still to fet information of planets spacecrafts like Voyager has been sent on Jupiter and on other planets.
