Seeds are ovules where an embryo is formed after fertilization.
When exposed to favourable conditions, these seeds sprout and grow into mature plants.
Seeds have a simple structure consisting of the embryo, the endosperm and the seed coat.
Based on seed coats it can be monocot or dicot.
Humans consume edible seeds that are easy to digest and provide nutrition.
Some edible seeds include sesame seeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, poppy seeds, quinoa seeds, basil, nuts and a lot more.
Seeds that are unedible due to hard outer shells like watermelon seeds, apple seeds and orange seeds are not digested but instead are excreted out directly from the body.
There are also seeds that can cause complications if consumed such as jojoba seeds, mahua seeds etc.
