Question

can the intermixing of 2 solids be tremendous diffusion

Open in App
Solution

Intermixing of two solids is not tremendous diffusion .Atoms and molecules in solids are packed very closely and therefore intermolecular space in solids is very less and thus it does not allow intermixing. In gases and liquids intermolecular spaces are large and therefore they allow diffusion.
