Question

Can there be a heterozygous recessive ? Explain.

Open in App
Solution

Solution:

No, it is not possible. The recessive traits are expressed only in homozygous situations (hence the name.) . Heterozygous means both the dominant and the recessive alleles of the gene will be present. In such a situation the dominant allele expresses its character while the recessive remains unexpressed.
