Can total entropy be negative?

Solution
Entropy:
Entropy is the measure of the randomness or disorderliness of a system.
A change in entropy of a system is the amount of heat emitted or absorbed isothermally or reversibly divided by temperature i.e

If the amount of heat emitted is more than the heat absorbed then the total entropy is negative.
So total entropy can be negative and in negative entropy a reaction becomes non-spontaneous.

Assertion : In simple harmonic total mechanical energy can be negative also
Reason : Potential energy is always negative and if it is greater than kinetic energy total mechanical energy will be negative.
