  1. The waves in which the vibration of the particles occurs normally to the direction of propagation of the wave are referred to as Transverse Waves.
  2. These waves include light and other electromagnetic waves which do not require any material medium for their propagation.
  3. For this reason, the transverse waves are able to traverse the vacuum of space.
