Question

Can unbalanced force can cause a change in shape and size of objects?

Open in App
Solution

Of course. If the structure of the object didn't withstand the applied force (due to weak bonding between particles of the object) then its shape would change or it might even break.

Note that the shape can change even if net force is zero because the applied forces can cause stress in the internal structure of the material
