Question

Can water waves be Polarised?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Waves that have more than one degree of freedom can be polarized which is mostly in the case of transverse waves.
  2. Inside water, the waves (other than surface waves) are longitudinal in nature and therefore no polarization can be achieved.
