Question

Can we define specific heat capacity at constant temperature?

Open in App
Solution

Specific heat capacity, s=ΔQm ΔT, where ΔQ/m is the heat supplied per unit mass of the substance and ΔT is the change in temperature produced. At constant temperature, ΔT = 0; therefore, s = infinity. So, we cannot define specific heat capacity at constant temperature.
