The Plane Mirror is a reflecting surface with two sides, one polished and the other silvered. The reflection always takes place along the polished side.
Some of the main characteristics of the plane mirror include: The image is virtual and erect. The size of the image formed is of the same size as that of the object. The image is formed at the same distance behind the mirror as the object is in front of it. The image is laterally inverted i.e. right side appears to be the left one in the image.
