Solution

DNA

  1. DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid, the primary genetic material.
  2. DNA is a structural and functional unit of life. DNA is a large molecule made up of small subunits.
  3. DNA stores all genetic information that passes from parent to offspring.
  4. The structure of DNA is made of nucleotides, a pentose sugar, or phosphate group.
  5. DNA is present in the nucleus and mitochondria.
  6. The nucleotide base pair present in DNA are adenine, thymine, cytosine, and guanine.
  7. Cental dogma states that genetic information is transferred from DNA to RNA and forms a functional protein.
  8. The DNA is capable of replication and passing on the genetic material to the daughter cells.
  9. Protein is essential for the functioning of a cell. They are made up of amino acids and serve as building blocks of a body.
  10. Protein is required for muscle building and repairing. It forms various hormones and enzymes in our body.
  11. Thus, without DNA we can not survive.
