Solution

Cell division as the method of reproduction in unicellular organisms:

  1. In unicellular organisms, the two daughter cells formed from the parent cells develop into new individuals.
  2. Since unicellular organisms have only one cell present, when they divide, they give rise to two new cells, which can be considered a new organism.
  3. Each new cell is capable of performing all life processes by itself.
  4. So they can be considered a new individual.
  5. For example, amoeba divides by binary fission. The daughter cells develop into a new individual.

Hence, cell division is a type of reproduction in a unicellular organism.
