  3. The shape is rod-like on sausage-shaped.
  4. Mitochondria are sites of cellular respiration.
  5. They are called the powerhouse of the cell because they synthesize energy-rich compounds ATP.
  6. Energy stored in ATP is used by the cell.

Plastids:

  1. Plastids occur in most plant cells and animal cells.
  2. They have their own genome(DNA).
  3. They are self-replicating (they have the power to divide).
