  1. The two reproductive parts of flowers are androecium and gynoecium.
  2. Androecium:
    1. The androecium is the male reproductive part. It consists of stamen, made of filament, and anther.
    2. Filament is a long and slender stalk. It is attached proximally to the thalamus.
    3. The anther is a broader knob-like fertile part of the stamen.
  3. Gynoecium:
    1. Gynoecium represents the female component of a flower.
    2. The free unit of gynoecium is called the pistil. The pistil has three parts- Stigma, style, and ovary.
    3. Stigma is the terminal receptive part of acts as a landing platform for the pollen grains. Style is the elongated narrow stalk that connects the ovary with stigma. The ovary is the basal swollen part of the pistil.
