Question

Can you use a transistor as a diode?

Open in App
Solution

  1. A bipolar junction transistor, as we all know, is the same as two diodes connected back to back.
  2. The transistors, on the other hand, are not constructed like ordinary diodes.
  3. The p-region and n-region in a transistor are doped differently and with different sizes.
  4. By using a transistor as a diode can result in current and other rating issues.
  5. Therefore, transistors can't be used as diodes.
