Capacitation refers to the change in the
Capacitation is the process of physiological changes that occur in the spermatozoa (sperm cells) in order to have the ability to penetrate and fertilise the egg. These occur on coming in with contact with the fluids of the female genital tract before fertilisation could occur.
Acrosomal reaction is the step that takes place immediately after capacitation, in which enzymes present at the acrosome help in penetrating the zona (outer covering of egg) during the process of fertilisation.
Spermiation is the process by which mature spermatids are released into the seminiferous tubule (tubular structure present in testicles where sperm formation takes place).
Spermatogenesis is the process of origin and development of spermatozoa (sperm cells) in the seminiferous tubules of testis. Spermatogonial stem cells (sperm mother cells) undergo mitotic and meiotic division for the formation of male gametes i.e., sperm cells.
